FDA and HHS Launch Online Database for Food Safety Transparency

The agencies seek to provide information to consumers and the food industry on contamination levels.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has introduced the Chemical Contaminants Transparency Tool (CCT Tool), a public online database that lists contaminant levels in food. Announced by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the tool consolidates information on tolerances, action levels, and guidance levels for various chemical substances that could pose health risks.

“HHS is committed to radical transparency to give Americans authentic, informed consent about what they are eating,” said Secretary Kennedy.

“Ideally there would be no contaminants in our food supply, but chemical contaminants may occur in food when they are present in the growing, storage, or processing environments,” said Acting FDA Commissioner Sara Brenner.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Kennedy to receive God’s wisdom as he heads the Department of Health and Human Services.
  • For Acting Commissioner Brenner to be prudent as she oversees the FDA.
  • For members of the Senate as they consider the president’s nomination of Martin Makary for FDA commissioner.
